At Shield, sustainability is important. We aim to promote sustainability and create a better world with every action we take. “Going green” is just part of who we are. We take steps each day to promote sustainability, both in the office and in the shop. Here are 4 ways Shield goes green every single day.

In the office: recycling

We take daily steps in our office to promote sustainability. We have recycling bins abundantly located throughout our office, and we utilize reusable plates, bowls, cups and utensils in our break room so as to cut down on waste. We encourage all employees to partake in these simple, sustainable actions.

In the shop: lean manufacturing

As we’ve previously mentioned, we engage in lean manufacturing in our shop, which saves vast amounts of electricity and greatly aids in reducing material waste. From our use of a CNC machine to our efficient manufacturing process, we aim to eliminate as much waste as possible each and every day. In our products: durability

We’ve said it hundreds of times before and we’ll say it again: Our products last a lifetime. It is our goal to ensure a quality product every step of the way. From a solid surface construction to our patented embedded metal inserts, our products hold up to almost anything and, with proper care, can last for decades, helping to eliminate the throwaway culture.
