About This Project

When Dimensional Innovations (DI), was ready to redo their corporate headquarters, they called on Shield to fabricate solid surface casework, a solid surface reception desk and a custom solid surface bar that fit the upgraded space. In renovating the industrial building, DI’s own designers chose finishes for the corporate lobby renovation that revealed the company’s creative and innovative culture, from the statement-making chandelier (only two exist in the world, both built by DI) to architectural pieces such as the angular, custom solid surface reception desk. 

Gestures like using the Wedge (Shield’s hardwood-and solid-surface-combined cabinet line) not only behind the bar but also to conceal charging elements threaded throughout the solid surface piece combine design and function fully. Choosing the walnut finish for the Wedge cabinets and matching wood elements helps make the space feel both generous and casual, while remaining a sophisticated example architectural design.
