Philips releases Ambient Experience Preparation and Recovery Bay with Shield headwalls
How a hospital and its spaces are designed greatly impacts patient care. Medical procedures can be a high stress situation for patients—fear of the outcome of the procedure, separation from family, anticipating pain or discomfort. Having a space that aids in recovery and relaxation is crucial.
Philips recently introduced its Ambient Experience Preparation and Recovery Bay in the U.S., a project Shield partnered on extensively with Philips by refining the design of, and crafting, the headwalls. These headwalls feature programmable lighting to help aid in patient recovery and relaxation.
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Philips on this project,” Stephen Hopkins, president of Shield Casework, said. “Shield is about constantly innovating, and this is another step forward in developing healthcare environments that work for both patients and clinicians.”[vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_single_image image=”12852″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
Conventional pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery rooms are often filled with equipment designed for the needs of the clinicians, rather than patients. What Philips and Shield have brought together helps relieve that.
The space’s lighting is programmable by the patients, allowing them to control part of their own post-anesthesia recovery. Healthcare design is trending towards creating welcoming environments and we at Shield are proud to partner with Philips to help create the healthcare spaces of the future.
